Trip Overview

The original Glacier School – Climb High have been running this trip for many years and were the original operators of Glacier School – this is the real deal!

The high mountains of Nepal offer a unique challenge to mountaineers – the combination of breathtaking scenery, extremes of temperature and diversity of terrain can’t be found anywhere else in the world. All of this makes the Nepali mountains the perfect training ground for mountaineering. For our Climbing Clinic, we are based in the area of the Cho la Pass, with much of the best climbing in the Everest area right outside our front door. The Cho la pass is situated at 5,420m in the heart of the Everest region. It is an ideal base for developing climbing skills, techniques and confidence with our experienced and qualified instructors. This course will cover use of ice axe and crampons, self arrest, crevasse rescues, rope work, glacier travel, abseiling and front point climbing using your crampons. After completing all your training, we will take you on an ascent of Lobuche East a, stunning 6,119m high peak. This is a beautiful peak which has some of the best views of Everest as you climb up the ridge to the summit.

Previous experience: Summer hill walking and a good level of fitness is required.
