Dhaulagiri Round Trek

5/5

$2,870.00

This is the seventh highest peak in the world with its massive snowy white bulk which dominates central west Nepal.

Introduction

This trek is long and difficult around Dhaulagiri. It starts from Beni on the Kali Gandaki and follows the Mayangdi Khola westwards to Darbang and turns north on a small trail which leads through forests into the high country. Much of the route is on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Pass (5,240m), traverses the head of Hidden Valley and crosses 5,155m Dhampus pass.
You can end the trek with a steep descent to Marpha and then walk up to Jomsom and then take a flight to Pokhara or return to Pokhara via the Ghorepani ridge for a panoramic view of the entire Dhaulagiri massif. This trek is categorized as hard trek and you need to be in excellent shape.

White Mountain separated from the Annapurna region by Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, includes some fifteen peaks above 7,000m. This region, considered to be one of the most remote places of the Kingdom of Nepal, has abundance of Himalayan peaks, hidden valleys, high passes and sweeping vistas. The Trans Himalayan journey is quiet, peaceful and full of adventure and excitement. Trekking in this area is relatively strenuous but trekkers willing to spend their holidays amid nature and natural surroundings full of peace and tranquility choose his “off the beaten track” trekking destination.

Private trek or group option

Please contact us with your preferred dates and itinerary and we’ll give you a quote.

Equipment

Trekkers need to provide their own personal clothing and equipment. It is recommended that you use tried and tested kit on the trip rather than relying on brand new kit you’re not sure of.

A complete kit list is to be found on this website.

Porter Protection

Climb High is a local Nepali company and as such we treat our own people with the respect and good conditions you would expect. Many team members are from our own families and you can be assured that the treatment they receive is second to none. All insurances and porter conditions are met, and more.

Why use Climb High?

Our acclimatisation schedule and trip organisation is designed to give everyone in the team the best chance of reaching base camp in great condition and feeling healthy.
This trek is accommodated in lodges with traditional Nepali hospitality.
Treks are led by highly experienced leaders plus Sherpas and porters.
Porter welfare is paramount to us – we are a local company and want to ensure that we take care of our own staff.
We are a premium Nepali trekking operator, with impeccable local contacts – any changes in plan can be dealt with far more effectively using our experience and network of local contacts.
We have our own modern offices in central Kathmandu in Mandala Street – Thamel’s premium street

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, please take the itinerary as a statement of intent rather than an absolute. Travel in Nepal can be dangerous, delayed and highly changeable. Weather conditions, availability of porters and the health of team members can all contribute to changes. The guides and their Sherpa assistants will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary.
