$1,570.00

The walk up to the Annapurna Base Camp is a classic trip right into the heart of the mountains. Though it has some steep climbs, it is not difficult and the views along the way are spectacular. The Sanctuary Trek traverses a variety of terrain from lowland villages and rice fields to glaciers, and offers magnificent views of high mountains. When you reach the base camp you will be surrounded by soaring Himalayan peaks.

Introduction

The trek to Annapurna is world famous, and is a ‘must-do’ trip for all outdoor enthusiasts. With awe-inspiring views of some of the world’s highest and most beautiful mountains, our treks are carefully organised to ensure you have plenty of time to acclimatise comfortably, making sure you can enjoy the trekking experience to the full.

The first day we have a briefing and sightseeing day in Kathmandu, where we can make sure that your kit is what you need and help you to get anything in the shops of bustling Thamel where our office is based. Then we’ll fly to the beautiful second city of Neal, Pokhara, and begin our trek’s itinerary. We pass through villages of several cultures as well as forests and rhododendron and picturesque Nepali agricultural villages.

The trekking is on good trails, with some rockier stretches nearer to our destination but nowhere is this climbing or even scrambling – there are good paths all of the way. You can expect to trek for 4 to 6 hours each day, with some days spent resting and acclimatising to ensure that we are all fit and healthy at altitude. This makes the trek suitable for any averagely fit walker. On the route accommodation is in Nepal’s famous tea houses – the accommodation is basic but comfortable and the friendly, hospitable Nepali people make your stay a memorable one.

Equipment

Trekkers need to provide their own personal clothing and equipment. It is recommended that you use tried and tested kit on the trip rather than relying on brand new kit you’re not sure of.

A complete kit list is to be found on this website.

Porter Protection

Climb High is a local Nepali company and as such we treat our own people with the respect and good conditions you would expect. Many team members are from our own families and you can be assured that the treatment they receive is second to none. All insurances and porter conditions are met, and more.

Why use Climb High?

  • Our acclimatisation schedule and trip organisation is designed to give everyone in the team the best chance of reaching base camp in great condition and feeling healthy.
  • This trek is accommodated in lodges with traditional Nepali hospitality.
  • Treks are led by highly experienced leaders plus Sherpas and porters.
  • Porter welfare is paramount to us – we are a local company and want to ensure that we take care of our own staff.
  • We are a premium Nepali trekking operator, with impeccable local contacts – any changes in plan can be dealt with far more effectively using our experience and network of local contacts.
  • We have our own modern offices in central Kathmandu in Mandala Street – Thamel’s premium street

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, please take the itinerary as a statement of intent rather than an absolute. Travel in Nepal can be dangerous, delayed and highly changeable. Weather conditions, availability of porters and the health of team members can all contribute to changes. The guides and their Sherpa assistants will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary.
