Cho Oyu is the 6th highest peak in the world (8201 meters) and it is located on the Tibet and Nepal border. It was first summited in 1954 by an Austrian and Tibetan Expedition. Cho Oyu is technically easier than most other eight thousand meter peaks. We will climb Cho Oyu via the West Face. Advanced Base Camp will be established at 5800meters, Camp 1 at 6500 meters, Camp 2 at 7100 meters and Camp 3 at 7400 meters.
Representatives will meet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel. Sightseeing of Kathmandu (optional).
Cho Oyu Base Camp. We drive to Cho Oyu Base Camp. Next morning we will do an acclimatization hike to 17,000/18,000 feet. Return back to Base Camp.
After breakfast we leave on our two day trek to Advance Base Camp. We will cross the Ra Chuu River and set up intermediate Camp. Next morning we trek toABC which is next to the Nangpa La at 5800 meters.
(Depending on the condition of the clients, we may stay one extra night in Intermediate camp)
The strategy of our expedition is to set up two more camps at 6500 meters, 7100 meters while we acclimatize for our summit attempt. After spending night at 7100 meters, we will descend down toABC. At ABC we will rest for approximately 5 days depending on the weather. From ABC we will start our summit push and climb to Camp 1, Camp 2 and then establish Camp 3 at 7400 meters. From Camp 3 we will make our final push to the summit. On summit day we start at 1:00 a.m. We should summit between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. We will return down to Camp 3 or Camp 2 for the night. Next day we will descend down to ABC.

Trekkers need to provide their own personal clothing and equipment. It is recommended that you use tried and tested kit on the trip rather than relying on brand new kit you’re not sure of.

Climb High is a local Nepali company and as such we treat our own people with the respect and good conditions you would expect. Many team members are from our own families and you can be assured that the treatment they receive is second to none. All insurances and porter conditions are met, and more.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, please take the itinerary as a statement of intent rather than an absolute.
