Chitwan National Park - Jungle Safari

Chitwan National Park was declared UNESCO Natural Heritage in 1979. This park is situated in central Nepal, covering 932 sq. km covered with deciduous forests overlooking the flood plains of Narayani, Rapti and Reu rivers. The park headquarters at Kasara is 21 km drive from Bharatpur which is 20 minutes by air or 146 km by road from Kathmandu.

Chitwan National Park offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem that includes mammals, birds, reptiles and water animals of several kinds. The main features of this park are the one-horned Rhinos and the Royal Bengal Tigers that live in the dense forests of the park. One will also find crocodiles, pythons, deers, brilliantly coloured birds, and if fortunate, the tigers. Besides there are also rhesus monkeys, grey langur, leopards and other wild cats.

Another striking feature that adds to the Chitwan experience is the colourful Tharu culture, tradition and their Tharu dance.

The activities in the safari includes,
Elephant back ride, jeep safari, canoe ride, nature / jungle walk, etc.
